Research study details:
Determine if users can easily find their affordable choices and complete the core tasks within the prototype and find if the app is easy to use and straightforward by conducting a usability study and determining (KPIs) and asking the following questions:
-
How long does it take for the user to find their desired options?
-
Are there parts where the user is stuck?
-
Are they actually finding a wide variety?
-
Are they happy with the options available?
-
How long does it take for the user to book a class?
-
Did they find the IA clear?
-
Is the app easy or difficult to navigate?
-
Are there more features the users think should be added?

Initial Design Concepts:
I did a crazy 8s ideation exercise to come up with ideas for how to address gaps identified in the competitive audit. My focus was specifically on having class method options, a variety of free classes and a built in system to access assignments and grades

Digital Wireframes
As the initial design phase continued, I made sure to base screen designs on feedback and findings from the user research.
and a guide for an easier navigation was a priority

Lo-fi prototype:
Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype. The primary user flow I connected was finding and booking a class from one of the majors so the prototype could be used in a usability study.

User Study: Findings
These were the main findings uncovered by the usability study:
1- Getting started: Users had difficulty getting started with the app
2- Finding Majors: Users were unable to easily find the Majors menu
3- Essential buttons: Users had difficulty finding essential buttons
4- Accessibility: users needed speech to text in every page necessary.
5- Contact Us: Contact us should be on every page
Refined designs:
Early designs allowed for some customization,
but after the usability studies, I increased the size of every essential button, and the availability of easy access to customer service and contact us on every page as well as more features, and added accessibility tools on all pages.

" I think the app was laid out in a clear way, the structure is nice and simple, no complexity in anything, and straightforward in every button, and id love to see it again"
Creating SKILLED. Responsive website

Navigation and digital literacy were one one of the most important pain points to focus on, so i used that knowledge to create the sitemap
My goal was to make a website that is simply laid out, and easy to navigate no matter the digital literacy.
The designs for screen size variation included mobile, tablet, and desktop. I optimized the designs to fit the specific user needs of each device and screen size.
